“It happened, just got to live after that” – Burnell Taylor, Baton Rouge, LA (American Idol Contestant)
This is his response when Ryan Seacrest asked him how did he deal with Katrina. This is a very profound (spiritual) response that we all should have when faced with the aftermath of a trying situation. Life does not always yield great times. There are some storms that will hit us, both physically and mentally. What is most important is our response, our outlook. Finding ways to be thankful, ways to live “after that” take a confidence in God. You have to know and believe that God is in control. God will not ever put more on us that we can handle….that sounds crazy considering some of you are going through so much it feels there is no way out, no break, no breather….be reminded today that God said it, if He said it then you know its true! You can relay on His Word, His Power, His Strength to pull you through the most difficult times in your life.
How do I know this? He has done it for me over and over.
Was I tempted to give up? Yes, of course because it is easier to give up then to fight. I held on to God.
How was I able to make it through it? God kept my mind in PERFECT PEACE, because I kept my mind on Him when it hurt the most……God is ABLE!
Ephesians 3:20
King James Version (KJV)
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Isaiah 26:3
King James Version (KJV)
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT) The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
